Charlie's Angels

( L to R: Jaclyn Smith, Farrah Fawcett, Kate Jackson )

Today I read in some sites that Farrah Fawcett passed away yesterday, June 25, 2009. She was 62., and she died of cancer.

Some might not really familiar with Fawcett. But I believe you've heard of Charlie' Angels, right? Cameron Diaz, Lucy Liu and Drew Barrymore. But, well, I watched "Charlie's Angels" when I was like, errr, 3 or 4 years old. It was a TV series, one of our - me, my elder sister & my cousin - favorite, aside of Chip's. Hahaha...

So, we used to play as if we were Charlie's Angels. Lia, my sister, as Jaclyn Smith's Kelly Garrett. Riva, my cousin, as Farrah Fawcett's Jill Munroe. And me, as Kate Jackson's Sabrina Duncan. No, I didn't pick Kate Jackson by myself. They, Lia & Riva, did it for me. They never let me chose the role. It was like, "Hey, it's whether you be Sabrina or not at all!" Haha. They were so rude back then. Probably because I'm the youngest and I was a bit annoying to them, I guess. I dunno. But sometimes kids do that, right? It's like playing with the same age and do some rude stuff to the youngers.

And my younger brother, Dimas, I think he was 2 years old. And we (three of us) pretended as if he is Bosley - a role in the movie. He couldn't even say anything meaningly at that time. So, well, he couldn't either accept nor reject it. I don't think he even cared about playing with us girls anyway!

Ohhhh, whatta childhood. Good times, bad times... I miss 'em!

Navicula

Navicula

A psychedelic grunge band from Bali.

They are Robi [vocal], Dankie [guitar], Made [bass] and Gembul [drums]. Navicula was under management of Glampunkabilly Inferno - an artist management I used to work for. But the so-called management had closed down, and thank those grunge gods, Navicula had found another great manager. And since then, Navicula has shown a really great progress.

Navicula's lyrics are mostly about environment. Earthy stuff. Socials. Nice ones. And, dudes... You should see their performance! It's so energetic. They also always play tight, yet soulfully.

Last but not least, you should see their album artworks. They are all fabulous!!!
To get to know 'em better, check out their official website; www.naviculamusic.com
Come to their 6th album's launching. Check the details in the pic. Grunge on!

10 Things

... to do to help stop global warming;

I hope you would read it well, and apply them to our daily life.
Thank you so much.

The issue of global warming came into my mind 22 years ago, when I was 8 years old. I wondered what earth would be in the upcoming 10 years, if people always use air conditioner, and there are more and more cars on the streets. I also read in a newspapers that the ozone layer was about getting thinner and thinner each day because the aerosol.

In fact, global warming is happening already. We are facing it now. So what we have to do now is stop it. Please spread this 10 Things info to everyone you know.

Hate Malaysia: Why Should I?

A friend invited me to join a group in Facebook. Its name is, "We Hate Malaysia,,"
I declined the invitation.
But I did check on the page, before I decided to decline it.

Not racism, it's nationalism.

Oh, really? Owkay. I know nothing about the difference, so... Whatever.

Basically, people in the group mentioning about how Malaysia stole Indonesian culture, recipes, etc. Many violence case also happened to Indonesian labors who work in Malaysia. And, the last issue is about Manohara Oldelia Pinot, a 17 years old Indonesian girl who married a prince from Kelantan. It is said that Manohara has been abused by the prince husband, but she finally managed to run away from him.

Oh, well, here's my opinion...

Owkay. I know I didn't come to neither history nor sociology class that much. But I do believe that, somehow, if there are any similarity between some of Malaysian dance, for example, and Indonesian's, it might happen because we live neighboring. As also, for instance, in Java, we have many varieties of food named "garang asem". Jogja has its own style of garang asem, Semarang has its own, and some also have their own. And, how can we say, "Who invented it first?" So, I think that's what happened about the batik things and also some of the traditional dances that Malaysia has claimed as its original culture.

And then, about the violence cases and Manohara. I hate the persons who maltretes other human. But why should I hate Malaysia then? It's the person who did wrong, not the country. If what Manohara says about her abusing husband is true, then let's just hate him. Not his country.

I just don't like the idea of generalizing. As if one person did wrong, then everything around him/her can also be judged as the wrong one as well. Ew!
There are some bastards in my country; Indonesia. There are some assholes in Indonesia, too. Do they make us a bastard and asshole too, just because we're Indonesian? C'mon!

Spread the love.
Not the hate.
